Kate Shooltz

I am a lover of the Earth and believer in a biophilic lifestyle - one enriched by nature. As an advocate for biophilic living I try to incorporate nature into my life wherever possible while encouraging others to do the same. Through my artwork I bring the beauty and benefits of nature to our indoor spaces. By using preserved plants that require no water or sun, my creations are accessible to all regardless of their green thumb or environment.

In 2015, I was introduced to the concept of biophilic design while studying for my Master of Real Estate Development. On that particular day in class, I felt my life path change. I knew in that moment my purpose was to share my love of nature through biophilic design. After graduation I began experimenting with living plant walls in my spare time creating test walls for friends and family. In an effort to make my creations accessible to anyone I shifted my focus to solely preserved plants. In 2018, I officially launched Kate the Earthling and have been creating unique pieces for my clients ever since.

Nature has enriched my life in so many ways. It brings me immense joy to share my love of nature with the world and with each one of my clients. I take pride in never making the same piece twice, keeping each creation unique and personal.
